A Pilates class for all pre and postnatal ladies.
Fitness Pilates is a great way to improve your posture as well as back and core strength. It can help to improve any muscular imbalances making your day to day tasks that bit easier.
Each session we start with a joint and muscle warm up to loosen up those tight areas of the body. Then we work on a series of standing routines and sequences to encourage optimum body movements. We then move into a mat based workout focusing on specific muscles. Pelvic floor and flexibility work then forms the end of the class.
Benefits of Fitness Pilates include improved strength, balance, control and body awareness. Increased flexibility, joint mobility and relaxation.
All of the exercises are adaptations of the original Pilates programme put together by Joseph Pilates. These are modified to be suitable for pre and postnatal lades and are in line with current guidelines. As within all our classes, we are able to offer lots of alternatives to the body movements to either make them more or less challenging.
Particular attention is given to exercises for the core, back, pelvic floor and posture.
As with all postnatal sessions, babies and toddlers are welcome to come along.
This Pilates class is suitable for all fitness levels and is a great way to reintroduce exercise in the early postnatal period, as well as those ladies with abdominal separation, weakened pelvic floor and even those receiving treatment from physiotherapists.

Tips for class:
- Pilates mats are provided, you just need to bring some water along with babies bit and bobs!
- This class is taught with no shoes, if you prefer you can wear Pilates socks with the grips on.
